2259 patients failed to attend for their appointment Jan-Aug 2014.
This equates to 14 lost appointments per day.
As we struggle with patient demand for appointments, we have found it necessary to introduce a DNA (did not attend) register.
If a patient fails to attend at least 2 appointments in a 3 month period they will be sent a letter informing them of the DNA system and to notify them they will be placed on the DNA register should they fail to attend a further appointment. Non-compliance with the system will result in a final letter being sent and they will be placed on the DNA register for 6 months of full attendance. Once on the DNA register the patient will need to confirm in advance their attendance of any appointment they book, failure to do this may result in their booked appointment being cancelled and offered to other patients.
To avoid this always cancel any unwanted appointments.
