New shingles vaccination for patients aged 70 or 79

New Shingles Vaccination

The shingles vaccination is a ‘new’ vaccination being offered to patients born between 01.09.33 and 01.09.34 and those born between 01.09.42 and 01.09.1943.

Shingles is a common disease that can cause long-lasting, severe pain. It has been known to cause permanent disability. Shingles occurs more frequently in those over 70 who are also more likely to have worse symptoms.

The vaccine is expected to reduce significantly the number of cases. It will reduce the symptoms in vaccinated people if they still develop the disease.

We will have the vaccines in stock from early September.

Please book an appointment with the nurse or pharmacist as soon as possible.
